Next week, I’m giving a presentation to a group of lifelong learners on Old Norse mythology—”Giantesses: The Women the Gods Could Not Control.” In it, I’ll track the development of the giantess concept from its animist origins in heathen Scandinavia, through Old Norse, to its revision and repurposing by Christian scholars. So far, interest in this talk is high, especially for a newcomer to the group.

Therefore, I’d like a little practice. This Saturday, January 24 at 8 pm (CST), I’ll host a presentation. Fill out this form and I’ll send you the Google Meet link before the show.

I will do a couple more presentations for giantess/mythology fans in other time zones around the world, and I’ll see if it’s possible to arrange for a recording.

UPDATE: I’m canceling the planned giantess presentation for now.

Interest didn’t quite coalesce this time, so I’ll revisit the idea another day.

Thanks to everyone who took a look.

UPDATE: I’m attempting another presentation this Saturday, Jan. 31, at noon CST. This should be early evening for everyone from Iceland to Norway. Sign up here.

Sunday, Feb. 1: I think the presentation went well. Four people signed up and attended. Google Meet may have been an unfamiliar interface, so the chat function might not have seemed obvious, but someone asked a question afterward and I shared resources for further reading.
