I have a private Pinterest board I use to keep track of my favorite artists. Recently I received a warning that one of my pins violated the TOS and they removed it, but before I could read the email they sent another saying they’d restored it but I’d better watch my back.
Now I’m going through the roster of artists and I’m dismayed to see how many of them are still on Twitter. I recognize that many people have built their entire business model around Twitter, and some people don’t have the time, energy, or heart to look for ethical alternatives.
OTOH, some of them were only on Twitter, and I’m finding their accounts deleted. Yay for getting off Musk’s fascist-friendly site, but where did they go? A Google search turns up nothing.

As for everyone else, I’ve been successful at finding them on DeviantArt, Pixiv, Fantia, Tumblr, Instagram, and in a few cases Gelbooru and E-Hentai. I’m discouraged when a talented artist just packs up and leaves without a legacy. I mean, they probably have reasons, like they’re tired of the problems within the Size community and didn’t feel they had enough support, or life just piled too much on them at once.
I recognize life is a continuum of losing things, but it’s never not frustrating.
