I have a private Pinterest board I use to keep track of my favorite artists. Recently I received a warning that one of my pins violated the TOS and they removed it, but before I could read the email they sent another saying they’d restored it but I’d better watch my back.

Now I’m going through the roster of artists and I’m dismayed to see how many of them are still on Twitter. I recognize that many people have built their entire business model around Twitter, and some people don’t have the time, energy, or heart to look for ethical alternatives.

OTOH, some of them were only on Twitter, and I’m finding their accounts deleted. Yay for getting off Musk’s fascist-friendly site, but where did they go? A Google search turns up nothing.

As for everyone else, I’ve been successful at finding them on DeviantArt, Pixiv, Fantia, Tumblr, Instagram, and in a few cases Gelbooru and E-Hentai. I’m discouraged when a talented artist just packs up and leaves without a legacy. I mean, they probably have reasons, like they’re tired of the problems within the Size community and didn’t feel they had enough support, or life just piled too much on them at once.

I recognize life is a continuum of losing things, but it’s never not frustrating.

  1. I’m probably always going to have that Twitter account (if only because I know there’s a guy waiting for me to delete it so he can take the name), but the place is nothing like it once was. And now with the limit of 100 direct messages a day, I’m guessing more people will have a reason to leave it.

Some artists are really conflicted about the size images they create, so I get why they stop cold turkey. I don’t like it, but I get it. I don’t have anywhere besides my phone or desktop where I’m saving salacious size pics, so I should fix that at some point. Thanks to you I know not to use Pinterest now.

    1. Yeah, but then there’s no way to tell them “I’m a fan, I love what you do, it means a lot to me.” They’re just gone, and maybe my support wouldn’t mean much, coming from one such as I, but…

Life is already a continuum of robberies. We lose objects, loved ones, our own senses. I hate it.

      1. Yeah, it’s hateful. The only way I’ve found to express my enjoyment of something lost forever is to save it for myself and then share a compilation on my blog. I have done that to some extent with Theth’s work, and I should probably do the same with Trinket’s images, which I still love. Maybe you can do something similar on your blog, create a lighthouse entry they can find if they ever google themselves.

  2. […] There, now you have a little headquarters that you can refer to, no matter what else goes on. Please think about a backup plan in this time of instability. I’m tired of missing my favorite creators. […]
