“Possession”

In 2017, with the popularity of the Size Riot flash fiction contests, my good friend Undersquid thought that it might be fun to stage a music-writing contest as well. Three people said they would participate; to his knowledge, I’m the only one to complete and share a piece of work. Other people have wondered why they didn’t think of this before, and I’m waiting to hear what comes of that.

I contacted some musician friends, explained with only a little awkwardness the nature of the work, and they completed the song in an afternoon, with another day for mastering and post-production. As I envisioned the song, it was the POV of a tiny man who has been shrunk against his will and is attempting to escape the house of an adoring, amorous woman.
